A. Introduction

In celebration of Singapore’s 60th year of independence, the SG60 Stamp Exhibition 2025 was held from 10 to 12 October 2025 at the Visual Arts Centre, located above Dhoby Ghaut MRT. This special three-day exhibition showcased Singapore’s heritage, history, and resilience through the lens of stamps, postcards, and postal memorabilia — miniature storytellers that trace our nation’s journey across time.

Organised by the Association of Singapore Philatelists (ASP) with the support of three local stamp societies — the Singapore Philatelic Society, Singapore Stamp Club, and Zui You Philatelic Society — the non-competitive exhibition invited visitors of all ages to rediscover Singapore’s evolving identity and aspirations through philately.

The Organising Committee (OC) comprised representatives from the three clubs: Mr Gabriel Lim (Singapore Stamp Club), Dr Zhao Jia (Zui You Philatelic Society), and Mr Teo Leng Siang (Singapore Philatelic Society), with Mr Yang Yan Choy (Secretary, ASP) as Advisor. Mr Sdiann Ng and Mr Henry Ong helped to review the exhibits and provided other guidance to the OC.

B. Exhibits

A total of 62 frames were displayed, featuring stamps, postal history, and vintage postcards

contributed by 19 exhibitors across 24 exhibits. Notably, the youngest exhibitor (aged 35) and the oldest (aged 94) both presented exhibits on Singapore’s National Day, reflecting how philately bridges generations.

The application form and IREX can be accessed here:

The accepted exhibits covered diverse themes such as Singapore’s nation-building journey, the Malayan Postal Union (1949–1967), airletters, and the evolution of mail delivery. Other highlights included vintage postcards depicting Singapore in the Sixties, stories of the Sin Chew Jit Poh newspaper (predecessor of Lianhe Zaobao), Singapore Airlines, the nation’s greening journey, and tributes to nursing as a noble profession.

C. Event Highlights

i. Day 1 — 10 October 2025

The size of the venue is 23m x 7m i.e. 161 sqm (1733 sq ft) and roughly equally divided into the

exhibition and dealers’ zones. Visitors came in steadily over the three days, with a noticeably younger crowd on the weekend. The event was cross promoted with SingPost’s SG60 World Post Day Exhibition at Temasek Shophouse, generating mutual footfall.

The Official Opening Ceremony, attended by nearly 50 guests in the evening, was graced by Mr Koh Seow Chuan (Founding President, ASP) as Guest of Honour, Mr Tay Peng Hian (Honorary President, ASP), and Mr Richard Tan (President, ASP).

ii. Day 2 — 11 October 2025

Guided tours were held at 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm where exhibitors shared about their collections. Heritage group Tapestry Trails also promoted the event, drawing new attendees from the heritage community.

iii. Day 3 — 12 October 2025

Despite closing earlier at 4 pm on this day, attendance remained strong. The event highlight for the day was the stamp-signing session with Mr Edmund Chen, designer of the 2011 ' Oriental Small-Clawed Otter’ and 2012 'Giant Pandas' stamp series. Although this was announced on Facebook that same morning, the session still drew a lively crowd well before the scheduled 2:30 pm start.
